The Love of God

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. (1 John 3:16)

More than 2,000 years ago, God the Son came to this earth. John 3:16 says:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

When Jesus was about 33 years old, He was crucified. Three days and three nights later, He rose again “for our justification” (Romans 4:25). It was God’s love for all mankind that sent God the Son down to earth to die for our sins.

It is God’s love that offers salvation to mankind. If we reject this free gift, then we will spend a conscious eternity away from the presence of God. This is the purpose of Hell. You wanted nothing to do with God, so He gave you your wish. You are forever separated from God; all alone; in torment. And it will last forever.

But while you are still alive, God’s offer of salvation is offered to you. But you must accept the gift in order to obtain salvation. I hope you will accept the free gift of God’s love.

And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. (1 John 2:25).
